6-Nights Workshop Itinerary
Day 1: Arrival in La Palma
Welcome & Transfer: Meet us at La Palma Airport, where you’ll be greeted and transported to your comfortable accommodation.
Workshop Briefing: Get acquainted with your tutors and fellow participants, and join us for a briefing on the exciting days ahead.
Optional Evening Session: If time allows, we’ll head to the view point for sunset and a little location scout.
Day 2: Exploring La Palma
Morning, after breakfast we will dive into basic Astro, including capturing the Milkyway and other constellations. Then we’ll scout ideal daytime and nighttime spots to make composition planning easier for later sessions.
Lunch break & Afternoon Rest, before heading out for the golden hour, sunset, and nighttime shoots.
Astrophotography Focus: Capture salt harvesting of Salinas de Fuencaliente and the lighthouse against La Palma's spectacular dark skies.
Day 3-4: Advanced Techniques in Practice & The Observatories
After breakfast: We will spend some time in a post-processing workshop: Spend the morning learning techniques in Lightroom, Photoshop, and specialised tools like Sequator and Starry Landscape Stacker.
Afternoon Exploration: Visiting our favourite spots or exploring new locations for creative landscape photography, hunting for some Cloud inversions.
Evening: Experience the most breathtaking view of La Palma from the Roque de los Muchachos Observatory (ORM). As night falls, marvel at a dazzling sky filled with a million stars, with the observatory’s majestic telescopes as your perfect foreground.
Day 5: Star Trails & Fine-Tuning
Flexible Start: Begin your day with a relaxed breakfast before diving into a hands-on photography experience.
Mastering Star Trails: Learn the art of capturing mesmerising star trails, from simple single-exposure shots to dramatic vortex effects.
Recharge & Refuel: Enjoy a laid-back afternoon with lunch and some well-earned rest, preparing for an unforgettable night ahead.
Sunset Location: You couldn’t get better than Pinar de Garafía. Epic rock formations and if we are lucky some cloud inversion.
Night at Roque de los Muchachos: As darkness falls, return to the island’s most iconic observatory for an immersive session of Star Trails and Milky Way photography, set against one of the clearest night skies on Earth.
Day 6: Full Day & Final Night
Morning Review: Post-process your favourite shots with guidance, bringing out the best in your astrophotography.
Final Night Shoot: Capture your most ambitious nightscape yet, drawing on all the skills you’ve built during the workshop.
Day 7: Farewell & Departure
Workshop Debrief: Reflect on your progress, share your favourite shots, and get feedback from your tutors.
Transfer Back: We’ll ensure a smooth transfer to La Palma Airport where you’ll leave with incredible photos, new skills, and lasting memories.
